Animal LOVE

This morning I realized that Spring time is absolutely infectious, even my fur babies are extra frisky and are begging to go outside more then ever. I even let my kitty Joey go out and explore the back yard and enjoy a beautiful Spring time morning. Joey had a blast listening to all of the birds chirping, his little ears were all perked up and his tail swishing in excitement. Joey enjoyed lapping up the dew that was left on the patio slab from the night he also feasted on some of the fresh grown cat grass and licked the  morning dew off of the grass in the yard.

Achilles and Goji just had a blast playing Dog tag in the yard, at least I think that is the game they play. When they were finished with their morning play session in the yard they sat at the back door starring in with big puppy dog eyes while Joey meowed extra loud to alert me that his dog brothers were ready to come back in the house.

A Day on The Tellico

It was a beautiful Tuesday morning on the Tellico. This morning the weather was very unique so I just knew the lighting would be fun to work with. The air was dense the fog was rolling off of the water and kissed by a light layer of sprinkling rain falling form the sky. The sun was dancing with the thunderstorm grey clouds and the Smokey mountains trying to peek out, throwing golden fire rays down as they reflected off of the gentle ripples of the water.
The sprinkling rain stopped and the clouds began to separate allowing the golden sun rays to shine down through a small opening in the grey thunderstorm clouds giving me the opportunity to capture the beautiful golden reflection of the suns rays for about 5 minutes before the clouds became thick and grey and hid the sun again and the lake turned to hues of deep cobalt blues to smokey greys without even a hint of the beautiful golden fire rays that had moments before danced with the gentle ripples of the lake.

As the sky turned grey and I had no good lighting to shoot I sat and watched as a few fishermen launched their bass fishing boats from an old boat ramp in to the lake. Each man was near 70 plus years old and wore a road map of wrinkles on his face, one man walked very slowly with a cane but was able to back his Chevy truck and boat trailer down and up the dock with ease and tie off his boat before returning his truck and boat trailer to the parking lot.

Each man one by one got in to his bass boat with a smile and aura of happiness. Maybe it is the serenity of nature and being out for a day of fishing, the thought of catching the BIG one, feeling the warmth of the golden sun on the skin; I am not quite sure what each mans smile represented but I did realize that the boat ramp was a very special slab of concrete and metal. The boat ramp allowed the men to launch and tie up their boats, exchange a good morning hello and a few fishing stories before turning on the engine and heading out for a day on the Tellico.
