Working in the health and beauty industry I have learned so much about people or in my terms the " Customer" . You have probably heard that old saying the customer is always right, well in my world not so much.
Your skin is your most important accessory, so you have to make it your priority to find the right products for your skin type. There are so many companies out there claiming to have the latest in anti aging skin technology and breakthroughs.
I have had the pleasure of attending trainings with some of the TOP skin care companies on the market such as Mario Badescu, Philosophy, Murad, MD Skin Care, Neostrata Exuvience, Dermalogica, Strivectin, Hydroxatone, Clinique, Peter Thomas Roth, Kinerese, and Cosmedicine. All of these companies are fabulous and have great skin care but how do you know what is right for your skin type?
My first tip to you is to figure out what type of skin that you have. If your skin is comfortable with out a moisturizer you most likely have oily skin. The biggest misconception I have found is that my oily skin clients do not want to apply a moisturizer for fear of becoming to oily. It is important to hydrate your skin daily both externally with a serum and a moisturizer and internally with at least 8 glasses of water a day. If your skin does not have a proper moisture balance it will over produce oil to compensate. Taking care of your skin is all about balance.
If you are new to a skin care regiment I suggest that you start out with the basics for a few months and then when you get use to doing your regiment you can add on. The basic skin care no matter what line you are using should be a Cleanser to remove and dirt, oil, or makeup, a toner to release any dead skin cells and give a little extra cleansing (note some companies call toners lotions, they are still toners),The last product you should have is a moisturizer. Three easy steps to great skin!
The basic skin care daily regiment:
*Cleanse
*Tone
*Moisturize
The advanced skin care daily regiment:
*Cleanse
*Tone
*Serum
*Moisturizer
*Eye Cream
Weekly skin care add ons- Mask, Acid peel, oxygen mask, physical exfoliation.
Monthly skin care add ons- See a dermatologist or esthetician for a customized facial
