I can not say it enough, I LOVE Spring! This morning in celebration of the first official day of Spring I decided to multi task and combine my morning workout with my love of nature photography. I packed up my camera bag and put on my workout clothes; ready to hit the trails along the Tellico Lake to see what I could see, and hopefully in between trail blazing and calorie burning sneak in some nature shots.
The morning nature action at the lake did not disappoint, as I walked down the trail I was greeted by hundreds of grasshoppers, small crickets, and moths with each step I took. The birds were chirping so loud it seemed as if they were also celebrating the first official day of Spring. The lake was low tide exposing vibrant reddish orange clay mosaiced with drift wood and river rocks. As I got in to the woods I was greeted by a bumble bee buzzing in my right ear, I watched where the bumble bee was flying too and he flew directly to a tree with freshly bloomed white flowers occupied with many bees collecting pollen.
My favorite shot of the day was a very unexpected shot, I was down on the bank of the lake taking pictures of drift wood and a splashing noise in the water caught my attention so I slowly moved closer to the splashing noise and pointed my camera, moments later a fish popped right up next to the water bird I was focusing on which I had thought made the noise. Sometimes the most fun shots are the ones that just happen organically.
